The paper investigates the multigrid performance for incompressible density-stratified flows. The major result is that the asymptotic convergence rate of the multigrid method with SIMPLE smoothing significantly depends on the flux limiter employed for the density. It is found that linear limiters perform better as nonlinear ones due to the presence of high-order terms in the right hand side of the coarse grid equations for the latter ones.
