A hypersymplectic space is, by definition, an even-dimensional quaternion space \({\mathbb H}^{2n}\) endowed with a nondegenerate quaternion Hermitian \(2\)-form \(\Omega\) whose real part is of zero signature. A quaternion \(n\)-dimensional subspace \(L\) of \({\mathbb H}^{2n}\) is said to be hyper-Lagrangian if the restriction \(\Omega| L\) vanishes. For \(\xi=(x,y), \eta=(v,w)\in {\mathbb H}^{n}\times {\mathbb H}^{n}={\mathbb H}^{2n}\), set \(\Omega_{st}=\langle x,w\rangle+ \langle y,v\rangle\), where \(\langle\cdot,\cdot\rangle\) is the standard Hermitian product in \({\mathbb H}^{n}\). Then (\({\mathbb H}^{2n},\Omega_{st})\) is a hypersymplectic space called standard. It is shown in the present paper that the manifold of hyper-Lagrangian subspaces of the standard hypersymplectic space (\({\mathbb H}^{2n},\Omega_{st})\) is diffeomorphic to the manifold \({\mathbb H}U(n)\) of hyperunitary matrices of order \(n\). It is also proved that \({\mathbb H}U(2)\) is the two-sheeted universal covering group of the group \(SO(5)\).
