Here, the nonlinear second-order differential equation \[ (r(t)y')'+q(t)f(y)=0 \tag{1} \] is studied on the half-line \([t_0,\infty)\), where \(r(t)>0\), \(q(t)\geq 0\), \(yf(y)>0\) for \(y\neq 0\) and \(f(y)/y\geq \mu>0\) for some \(\mu\) and all \(y\neq 0\). The authors follow the method of \textit{Q. Kong} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 229, 258-270 (1999; Zbl 0924.34026)] and prove a conjugacy criterion for (1) over the interval \((a,b)\) via the method of two-parametric function \(H(t,s)\) -- a method which is in the linear case due to \textit{Ch. G. Philos} [Arch. Math. 53, 482-492 (1989; Zbl 0661.34030)]. Based on this criterion, the authors derive criteria which ensure that every regular solution to (1), defined on \([t_0, \infty)\), is oscillatory. The criteria are called ``interval oscillation criteria'', since they contain the integral of the function \(q(t)\) over a sequence of subintervals of the interval \([t_0, \infty)\) and not over the whole interval \([t_0, \infty)\). An application of the results is given. Examples show that the criteria extend previous results.
