    The Jacobi-type hypergroups on \([-1,1]\) and \([0,\infty[\), and the Bessel-Kingman hypergroup on \([0,\infty[\) form well-known families of commutative hypergroups \(K\) that are indexed by (one or) two parameters \(\alpha\geq \beta\geq -1/2\). The associated hypergroup convolutions have a similar well-known shape, and there exist well-known positive integral representations of the characters with indices \((\widetilde\alpha, \widetilde\beta)\) in terms of that with indices \((\alpha,\beta)\) for \(\alpha=\beta \leq\widetilde \alpha= \widetilde \beta\) or \(\alpha=\widetilde \alpha\leq \beta\leq \widetilde\beta\). In the paper under review, another kind of such a transference formula is presented. This formula is then used to prove that in all cases for \(h\in L^1(K, \omega_{\alpha, \beta})\) (with \(\omega_{\alpha, \beta}=\eta_{\alpha,\beta}\lambda\) the Haar measure with some suitably normalized Lebesgue density \(\eta_{\alpha, \beta})\) the convolution operators \(T_h^{\alpha, \beta}:g \mapsto g*_{\alpha, \beta}h\) on \(L^p(K, \omega_{\alpha, \beta})\) and \(T_k^{\widetilde \alpha,\widetilde \beta}: g \mapsto g*_{\widetilde \alpha,\widetilde \beta}k\) on \(L^p(K, \omega_{\widetilde \alpha,\widetilde \beta})\) with \(k:=h \cdot\eta_{\alpha, \beta}/ \eta_{ \widetilde \alpha,\widetilde \beta}\) satisfy \(\|T_k^{\widetilde \alpha, \widetilde \beta} \|\leq \|T_h^{\alpha, \beta}\|\) for any \(p\in [1,\infty[\).
