This paper extends some of the results of \textit{Klaus Schmidt} and others concerning the ergodic properties of \(\mathbb Z^d\)-actions by automorphisms of compact groups, to actions of the discrete Heisenberg group. Ergodicity, mixing, and expansiveness are studied, and both analogues of abelian results and real differences are described.
