The discrete spectrum in the spectral gaps of semibounded operators with non-sign-definite perturbations (Q5945111)

This paper extends the author's earlier results [Commun. Math. Phys. 193, No. 1, 233-243 (1998; Zbl 0920.47010)] on the motion of the eigenvalues of \(A-tV\) as \(t\) increases, where \(A\) and \(V\) are selfadjoint linear operators in Hilbert space, with \(A\) semibounded and \(V\) not sign-definite. Applications to differential operators are also considered.
