The Sperner lemma, known from the combinatorial topology, is applied, alternatively to the fixed-point theory, for solving a multipoint conjugate boundary value problem for a scalar \(n\)th-order nonlinear ordinary differential equation. By this way, the existence of positive solutions can be established only under natural sign conditions. Two theorems of this type are given generalizing some earlier results of other authors quoted among the references.
