The author considers the Kontsevich star product on the dual of a Lie algebra \(\mathfrak g\) corresponding to the Kirillov Poisson structure on \(\mathfrak g^*\) that occurs as a special case of a universal formula valid for an arbitrary Poisson structure on \(\mathbb R^n\) which was explicitly given in [\textit{M. Kontsevich} Deformation quantization of Poisson manifolds. I (Preprint 1997) see \(q\)-alg/9709040]. Also in that paper, it was shown that there is an isomorphism \(\varphi_w\) from the algebra \(S^\bullet(\mathfrak g)^{\mathfrak g}\) of invariant polynomial functions on \(\mathfrak g^*\) with the pointwise product to \((S^\bullet(\mathfrak g)^{\mathfrak g},\ast)\), where \(\ast\) denotes the Kontsevich star product for \(\hbar=1\). The aim of the present paper is to show that the numbers \(W_{2k}\) determining this isomorphism, which are defined by integrals over parts of the upper half-plane corresponding to certain graphs the so-called wheels (cf. \textit{M. Kontsevich} [loc. cit.]) and which are independent of the algebra \(\mathfrak g\), are all equal to zero for \(k\in \mathbb N\setminus \{0\}\). Using the fact that the integral with respect to a constant volume form on \(\mathfrak g^*\) defines a trace for \(\ast\) in case \(\mathfrak g\) is semi-simple (resp. that \(\ast\) is strongly closed), which is proved with the help of the result of [Cor. 2] [\textit{G. Felder}, and \textit{B. Shoikhet}, Lett. Math. Phys. 53, 75-86 (2000; Zbl 0983.53065)]; also cf. \textit{P. Bieliavsky, M. Bordemann, S. Gutt}, and \textit{S. Waldmann}, Traces for star products on the dual of a Lie algebra. Preprint (February 2002, math.QA/0202126)] the author succeeds in showing that the numbers \(W_{2k}\) vanish for \(k\in\mathbb N\setminus \{0\}\). (Here he may even restrict to the consideration of compact semi-simple Lie algebras, due to the independence of these numbers of \(\mathfrak g\).) This implies that the isomorphism \(\varphi_w\) is equal to the identity. In particular this means that the Kontsevich star product of two invariant polynomial functions on \(\mathfrak g\) coincides with the undeformed product of these functions. The latter fact has also been shown in [\textit{D. Arnal}, and \textit{N. Ben Amar}, Lett. Math. Phys. 52, 291-300 (2000; Zbl 1017.53073)]\ for even a wider class of Kontsevich-like star products on \(\mathfrak g^*\) and this proof is based on results of [\textit{D. Arnal, N. Ben Amar}, and \textit{M. Masmoudi}, Lett. Math. Phys. 48, 291-306 (1999; Zbl 0957.53046)] which are strongly related to those obtained in [\textit{G. Dito}, Lett. Math. Phys. 48, 307-322 (1999; Zbl 0957.53047)].
