The authors define the notion of unbounded \(C^*\)-seminorms on partial *-algebras and generalized the studies begun by \textit{S. J. Bhatt}, \textit{A. Inoue} and \textit{H. Ogi} [J. Oper. Theory 45, No. 1, 53-80 (2001; Zbl 0994.47074)] of unbounded \(C^*\)-seminorms on *-algebras to partial *-algebras. In particular, they construct unbounded *-representations of a partial *-algebra \(A\) from an unbounded \(C^*\)-seminorm on \(A\) and investigate their properties. Conversely, starting from a *-representation \(\pi\) of \(A\), they construct an unbounded \(C^*\)-seminorm \(r_\pi\) on \(A\) which turns out to admit a *-representation \(\pi^{{\mathcal N}}_{r_\pi}\) called natural and investigated the relationship between \(\pi^{{\mathcal N}}_{r_\pi}\) and the *-representation \(\pi\).
