The problem of pool boiling is investigated with the help of fractal theory. It is shown that the active nucleation site density of a heating surface of pool boiling has a feature of fractal. The dependence of the number of nucleation sites per unit area on boiling surface superheat is presented. The theoretical results agree well with experimental data.
