      The authors prove a local existence result on a nonlinear functional-differential equation of the form NEWLINE\[NEWLINEu'(t)+Au(t)\ni G(t,u_t,L_tu),\quad 0\leq t \leq T, \qquad u(t)=\phi(t), \quad -r\leq t\leq 0,NEWLINE\]NEWLINE in a real Banach space \(X\). Here, \(A\) is an \(m\)-accretive operator generating a compact semigroup on \(\overline{D(A)}\subseteq X\), while \(G:[0,T]\times L^p(-r,0;X)\times X\to X\) and \(L_t:L^p(-r,t;X)\to X\) satisfy some Lipschitz-like conditions.
