The authors consider two problems for degenerate higher-order parabolic equations. The authors prove the finite speed of the propagation property for degenerate parabolic equations of order \(2m\geq 2\), when the nonlinearity is of general type, and not necessarily a power function. The main result is an estimate of the speed of propagation of compactly supported solution to these problems. In the case of second-order equations they also prove \(L^\infty\) estimates of the solutions.
