The authors develop some branches of the theory of t-norms and its applications. Its aim is to generate similarity measures for ordinary sets and to present them in a rational expression based on cardinalities of the sets involved. Twenty seven measures are examinated and classified on the basis of their boundary behaviour and properties of reflexivity and monotonicity. It is shown that seventeen of these measures are T-transitive with respect to a wide scale of t-norms. For the analysis of the similarity property, two types of reflexivity (reflexivity and local reflexivity) and three types of monotonicity (involving two, three and four sets) are considered and used.
