The Moore-Penrose inverse of von Neumann regular matrices over a ring (Q5946195)

The author proves necessary and sufficient conditions for the Moore-Penrose invertibility of a von Neumann regular matrix over a ring (and also the matrices arising in certain factorizations) with respect to an involution on matrices over the given ring. An explicit formula for the computation of the corresponding inverse is given. As applications the Frobenius normal form, the Schur factorization and diagonal factorizations over von Neumann regular rings are approached.
