Translation ovoids and spreads of the generalized hexagon \(H(q)\) (Q5946243)

The author proves that the classical finite generalized hexagon \(H(q)\) does not admit translation ovoids (with respect to a flag) in characteristic \(\neq 3\). For the case of characteristic 3, he completely classifies the translation ovoids with respect to a point: The only examples are the hermitian ovoids and the ovoids constructed by \textit{J. Bloemen, J. A. Thas} and \textit{H. Van Maldeghem} [Geom. Dedicata 72, No. 1, 19-62 (1998; Zbl 1035.51002)].
