Basic objectives of dialogue logic in historical perspective (Q5946358)

This paper gives a historical survey on the development of dialogue logic which started with \textit{P. Lorenzen}'s fundamental presentation in his book: Einführung in die operative Logik und Mathematik (Springer, Berlin) (1955; Zbl 0066.24802, Zbl 0068.00801). Moreover it serves as an introduction to the special issue of Synthese dedicated to a variety of themes connected with dialogue logic.
