Let \(R\) be a discrete valuation domain. Given two \(R\)-modules \(A\) and \(B\), the finite topology on \(\Hom_R(A,B)\) has a subbase at \(0\) consisting, for each element of \(A\), of the homomorphisms vanishing on that element. The author continues his work on Baer-Kaplansky type theorems in which the isomorphism between the endomorphism algebras is topological. Let \(M\) and \(N\) be \(R\)-modules and let \(\Phi\colon\text{End}_RM\to\text{End}_RN\) be a topological isomorphism. If \(R\) is complete, the author's previous work shows that \(\Phi\) is induced by an isomorphism of \(M\) with \(N\) provided \(M\) is either torsion or torsion-free. The present article considers the case that \(M\) is a mixed, reduced module. The author defines a natural ``hull'', \(\widetilde M\) and proves that \(\Phi\) is induced by an isomorphism of \(\widetilde M\) with \(\widetilde N\). It is shown that \(\widetilde M=M\) if the first Ulm submodule \(M^1\) of \(M\) is a cotorison module. Assuming \(M^1\) cotorsion, every topological automorphism of \(\text{End}_RM\) is inner. As a second theme, the author considers the ``intrinsic topology'' introduced by \textit{W. Liebert} [Abelian group theory, Lect. Notes Math. 1006, 384-399 (1983; Zbl 0531.20032)] and generalizes some of Liebert's results. A number of examples are provided.
