Krall polynomials are orthogonal polynomials which are eigenfunctions of a certain linear differential operator of finite order. For the \(q\)-Krall polynomials the differential operator should be replaced by a certain linear \(q\)-difference operator of finite order. A method to study these polynomials is described leading to a criterion in terms of moments or in terms of Stieltjes functions (generating functions for the moments). In the classical case \(q=1\) this criterion is equivalent to the one given by Krall in terms of the polynomial coefficients of the differential operator involved. An explicit example is given for certain generalized little \(q\)-Jacobi polynomials.
