A simple interval reasoning is applied to the problem of checking structural integrity of material structures. The basic assumption is that in the presence of faults a linear dependence turns into a nonlinear one, so that the problem boils down to checking linear dependence of measured quantities (afflicted with errors), which is achieved by using a simple interval method.
