An attempt is made to show that a linear coupled dynamic homogeneous isotropic thermoelasticity makes sense for fast processes only. Also, claim is made that the theory has a flaw in the sense that the internal energy of a thermoelastic body does not go to the internal energy of an isothermal body when the temperature goes to reference temperature. The reviewer believes that the author's findings on the fast processes are objectionable since they are based on the restricted displacement-temperature field equation of quasi-static thermoelasticity in which inertia terms are ignored: \[ \text{div }u= {1+\nu\over 1-\nu} \alpha(T- T_0),\tag{\(*\)} \] where \(u\) is the displacement vector, \(T\) is absolute temperature, \(T_0\) is a reference temperature, \(\nu\) is Poisson's ratio, and \(\alpha\) is the coefficient of thermal expansion. Also, there is a finite limit of internal energy of coupled dynamic theory if the temperature tends to the reference temperature, and the limit coincides with the internal energy of an isothermal body provided in the limiting case the coefficient of thermal expansion is assumed to be zero. Moreover, eqs. (2) and (22) are misprinted; in eq. (2) a plus in the parentheses should read minus, and in eq. (22) the number 3 in the denominator should be deleted [see eq. \((*)\) of the review].
