    Let \(k\geq 1\) be an integer, \(n_1,\ldots,n_k\geq 2\) be integers, and \(\Omega: \mathbb R^{n_1}\times\cdots\times \mathbb R^{n_k}\to \mathbb C\) be a component-wise homogeneous function of degree zero with cancellation property \[ \int_{S^{n_j-1}}\Omega(y'_1,\ldots,y'_k) d\sigma(y'_j)=0\text{ for }j=1,\ldots,k. \] The Marcinkiewicz integral in a product domain is defined by \[ \mu_\Omega f(x_1,\ldots,x_k)= \Biggl(\int_{0}^{\infty}\cdots \int_{0}^{\infty} |F_{s_1,\ldots,s_k}f(x_1,\ldots,x_k)|^2 \frac{ds_1\cdots ds_k}{s_1^3\cdots s_k^3} \Biggr)^{\frac 12}, \] where \[ \begin{multlined} F_{s_1,\ldots,s_k}f(x_1,\ldots,x_k)\\ =\int_{|y_1-x_1|\leq 1}\cdots \int_{|y_k-x_k|\leq 1}\frac{\Omega(x_1-y_1,\ldots,x_k-y_k)} {|x_1-y_1|^{n_1-1}\cdots|x_k-y_k|^{n_k-1}}f(y_1,\ldots,y_k) dy_1\cdots dy_k.\end{multlined} \] The author shows that under the additional condition \[ \Omega|_{S^{n_1-1}\times \cdots\times S^{n_k-1}}\in L(\log^+L)^{k/2}(S^{n_1-1}\times \cdots\times S^{n_k-1}), \] the Marcinkiewicz integral operator \(\mu_\Omega\) is bounded on \(L^2(\mathbb R^{n_1}\times\cdots\times \mathbb R^{n_k})\). This is an extension of the classical result by \textit{T. Walsh} [Stud. Math. 44, 203-217 (1972; Zbl 0212.13603)] to product domains, and an improvement of a result by \textit{Y. Ding} [Hokkaido Math. J. 27, No. 1, 105-115 (1998; Zbl 0896.42010)] in the case \(k=2\).
