Let \(\Omega\) be a bounded domain in \({\mathbb{R}}^N\) (\(N=1, 2, 3\)) with smooth boundary. The paper deals with the study of global \(C^1\)-solutions of the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation \(u_t-(\lambda +i\alpha)\Delta u+(\kappa +i\beta)|u|^{p-1}u- \gamma u=0\) in \(\Omega\times {\mathbf R}_+\), subject to the initial condition \(u(\cdot ,0)=u_0(\cdot)\), and to an homogeneous Dirichlet (or Neumann) boundary condition. The parameters \(\alpha,\beta,\gamma\) are real, while \(\lambda >0,\kappa >0\), and \(p>1\). The main result of the paper is the following. Assume that \(|\beta |/\kappa \leq 2\sqrt{p}/(p-1)\) and \(\lambda\kappa +\alpha\beta >0\). Then the above problem has a unique global solution. The proof uses a quite standard regularization procedure which is based on the use of Friedrichs mollifiers and on the theory of nonlinear semigroups.
