Between generalized Clifford algebras and \(\text{gl}(\infty, C)\) (Q5947321)

The author briefly discusses the relation between generalized Clifford algebras \(C^r_{ N}\) and the Lie algebra \(gl(N,C)\). In particular, the limit as \(N\) tends to infinity is studied. As a result the author proves that in the case of \(N\rightarrow\infty\) the generators of the generalized Clifford algebra \(C^r_{\infty}\) can be identified with the matrices \(\Gamma_j=\sum_{i\in Z}E_{i,i+j}\). Here, \(\{E_{i,k}\}_{i,k\in Z}\) denotes the standard basis in \(gl(\infty, C)\).
