    Let \(U=(0,1)^d\), \(d\geq 2\) denote the open unit cube in \({\mathbb R}^d\) and let \(D\) be a subset of \(U\). The authors investigate the following two classes of multilinear operators. The first one consists of the multilinear oscillatory integral operators \[ T_D (f_1 , \dots , f_d) = \int_{D} \exp\left(i\lambda S(x_1 , \dots , x_d) \right) f_1 (x_1)\dots f_d (x_d) d x_1 \dots d x_d, \] defined by a polynomial phase function \(S: {\mathbb R}^d \rightarrow {\mathbb R}\). The second class consists of the multilinear level set operators \[ W_D (f_1 , \dots , f_d) = \int_{D}\chi_M (x_1 , \dots , x_d)f_1 (x_1)\dots f_d (x_d) d x_1 \dots d x_d, \] where, for a given \(M>0\), and a polynomial \(F: {\mathbb R}^d \rightarrow {\mathbb R}\), \(\chi_M\) is the characteristic function of the set \(\{ x\in{\mathbb R}^d: |F(x)|\leq M\}\). Such operators are natural generalizations of the oscillatory and level set operators studied in [\textit{A. Carbery, M. Christ, M.} and \textit{J. Wright}, J. Am. Math. Soc. 12, No. 4, 981-1015 (1999; Zbl 0938.42008); \textit{D. H. Phong} and \textit{E. M. Stein}, Ann. Math. 140, No. 3, 703-722 (1994; Zbl 0833.43004); Math. Res. Lett. 1, No 1, 27-33 (1994; Zbl 0836.42008); Acta Math. 179, No. 1, 105-152 (1997; Zbl 0896.35147); Adv. Math. 134, No. 1, 146-177 (1998; Zbl 0899.47037); \textit{A. Seeger}, J. Am. Math. Soc. 11, No. 4, 869-897 (1998; Zbl 0907.35147)]. For these operators, estimates in terms of \(L_p [0,1]\)-norms of the functions \(f_1 , \dots , f_d\) are obtained (Theorems A, B). Moreover, the authors investigate the linear oscillatory integral operator \(T_\psi: L^2 [0,1] \rightarrow L^2 [0,1] \) given by \[ (T_\psi f)(x) = \int_{-\infty}^{+\infty} \exp \left( i \lambda S(x, y)\right) \psi (x, y) f(y), \quad x , y \in {\mathbb R}, \] where \(\psi \in C^2_0 (U) \) is a cutoff function and the polynomial \(S(x,y)\) is supposed to satisfy a certain condition on the support of \(\psi\). Its operator norm is estimated in Theorem C as follows \[ \|T_\psi\|\leq C|\lambda \|^{- \delta/2}, \] where \(\delta\) is a positive parameter (the Newton decay rate), which is determined by the properties of \(S\).
