An entropy \(H(\xi^n)\) of decreasing sequences of measurable partitions was defined by A. Vershik. The paper is devoted to the growth rate of entropy of such sequences. Partitions \(\gamma= \gamma(A)= \{A,A^c\}\) and \(\gamma^{n+ 1}\), defined inductively, are considered. The main result of the paper: For every sequence of positive numbers \(\alpha_n\), \(\alpha_n\to \infty\), there exist \(A\subset [0,1]\) and a sequence \(n_k\to \infty\), such that \(H(\gamma^{n_k}(A))> \alpha_{n_k} 2^{n_k}\).
