This work describes briefly a powerful method to determine variationally the ground state properties of many-body strongly-interacting systems, based on the interplay between the familiar two-body Jastrow ansatz and a special coordinate-space configuration-interaction expansion. Applications to finite \({}^4\)He and \({}^3\)He drops are also presented.
