The authors present a relegation algorithm extending the method of normalization by Lie transformation. The Hamiltonian of the canonical system \(H\) is a power series in a small parameter. In the relegation algorithm a time-independent function can be added to the principal term. The normalization approximates the original \(H\) by a Hamiltonian \(K\) so that the principal term is an integral of the transformed system, and under these conditions the added function becomes a formal integral of the approximate system. The algorithm is illustrated by examples from galactic dynamic, and by a Keplerian system perturbed by radiation pressure from a rotating source. It is shown that the solution is equivalent to the construction of a Lie transformation, but with a certain modification.
