Structural stability under conditions of nonhyperbolicity (Q5948751)

Specific families \(x_{n+1} = f_\mu (x_n)\) of dynamical systems, with a nonhyperbolic fixed point at \(\mu = 0\), may not undergo bifurcations. An example is \(f_\mu(x) = \mu + x - x^3\), which has an attracting fixed point for all small \(\mu\) (nonhyperbolic if \(\mu = 0\)). The authors investigate and catalogue such families.
