The authors discuss an epidemic model with susceptible \((S(a,t))\), exposed \((E(a,t))\), infected \((I(a,t))\) and recovered \((R(a,t))\) individuals, with age \(a\) at time \(t\). It is assumed that the transmission from \(S\) to \(I\) is a Poisson process, and the death rate is not affected by the disease. They discuss existence and uniqueness of positive solutions, existence of steady states along with a stability analysis.
