Inspired by \textit{F. M. Markel}'s conjecture [J. Algebra 26, 69-74 (1973; Zbl 0274.20030)] asserting that \(S_3\) is the only finite group whose conjugacy classes all have different size, the authors consider finite groups \(G\) with \(G'\) nilpotent and satisfying the condition that exactly two conjugacy classes of \(G\) have the same size. They prove that \(Z_2\), \(A_4\) and \(D_{10}\) are the only groups satisfying these requirements. The proof is long but elementary and easy to follow.
