The paper deals with the system of coupled telegraph wave equations NEWLINE\[NEWLINE \begin{aligned} & u_{tt}-u_{xx}+Bu_t-g(t,x,u)=h(t,x),\quad (t,x)\in \Omega,\\ & u(t,0)=u(t,\pi)=0, \quad t\in \mathbb{R},\tag{1}\\ & u(t+2\pi ,x)=u(t,x), \quad (t,x)\in \mathbb{R}\times (0,\pi), \end{aligned} NEWLINE\]NEWLINE where \(\Omega =(0,2\pi)\times (0,\pi)\), \(g(t,x,s): \Omega \times \mathbb{R}^n\to \mathbb{R}^n\) is Caratheodory continuous and \(2\pi\)-periodic in \(t\), and \(B\) is an \(n\times n\) symmetric, not necessarily invertible matrix. By assuming a nonresonance of (1) and using a theorem based on the Leray-Schauder fixed-point theorem, the existence of a weak solution for (1) is proved under additional assumptions.
