On the \(q\)-polynomials: A distributional study (Q5949511)

Motivated by the works of \textit{A. G. Garcia}, \textit{F. Marcellán} and \textit{L. Salto} [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 57, No. 1-2, 147-162 (1995; Zbl 0853.33009)] and of \textit{F. Marcellán} \textit{A. Branquinho} and \textit{J. Petronilho} [Acta Appl. Math. 34, 283-303 (1994; Zbl 0793.33009)], the authors present here a unified study of classical discrete \(q\)-polynomials. Characterizations of these polynomials have been worked out providing the \(q\)-analogues of corresponding results on classical orthogonal polynomials.
