The authors investigate the optimal stabilization of equilibrium positions of a rigid body using internal rotors. The procedure is optimal in the sense that the control law minimizes the required control time, and Lyapunov function is used to prove the possibility of optimal stabilization of equilibrium positions. Some special cases are studied, and the results obtained are analyzed to show the advantage of the present approach over other methods available in the literature.
