Kovalevskaya top and generalizations of integrable systems (Q5950738)

The authors propose the following method of constructing new integrable systems. Let an integrable system be Hamiltonian with respect to some Poisson brackets. Let us consider a one-parameter nontrivial pencil of Poisson brackets extending the initial brackets and try to construct a one-parameter pencil of Hamiltonian functions such that for any fixed value of this parameter the deformed Hamiltonian function defines an integrable system with respect to the deformed Poisson brackets. In this paper this program was realized for the well-known Kovalevskaya, Chaplygin, Goryachev--Chaplygin, and Bogoyavlensky integrable systems.
