    Let \(\mathcal V (\mathcal A)\) be a variety generated by an algebra \(\mathcal A \), let \(F_{\mathcal V}(k)\) be a free algebra of a variety \(\mathcal V\) with \(k\) free generators. The function \(\text{Spec}_{\mathcal A}(k)=|F_{\mathcal V (\mathcal A)}(k)|\) is called the free spectrum of \(\mathcal A \). Let \(\mathcal A \) be a finite algebra that generates a congruence modular variety \(\mathcal V(\mathcal A)\). It is proved that the free spectrum of \(\mathcal V(\mathcal A)\) fails to have a doubly exponentially lower bound if and only if \(\mathcal A \) has a finitely generated clone and \(\mathcal A \) is a direct product of nilpotent algebras of prime power cardinality.
