A Lie subgroup \(H\) of a Lie group \(G\) is called uniform if \(G/H\) is compact, and quasi-uniform if \(G/H\) is of finite invariant measure. The author says that \(H\subset G\) is plesio-uniform if \(H\subset P\subset G\), where \(P\) is a uniform subgroup of \(G\) and \(H\) is a quasi-uniform subgroup of \(P\). In the paper under review, certain important properties of plesio-uniform subgroups are proved. First, in their definition the assumptions on \(P\subset G\) and \(H\subset P\) to be uniform and quasi-uniform may be transposed. It follows that the plesio-uniformity is a transitive property: if \(H\subset F\) are Lie subgroups of \(G\), where \(H\subset F\) and \(F\subset G\) are plesio-uniform, then \(H\subset G\) is plesio-uniform. Another result claims that if \(H\subset G\) is a plesio-uniform subgroup, then any Lie subgroup containing \(H\) is plesio-uniform in \(G\). One also notes that in a solvable Lie group any plesio-uniform subgroup is uniform and that the non-abelian connected Lie group of dimension 2 contains no proper plesio-uniform subgroup.
