The paper is devoted to the study of two spectral problems \[ u^{\prime \prime}(x)+\lambda u(x)=0,\quad u(1)=0, \quad (a-\lambda)u'(0)+\lambda bu(0)=0,\;a,b>0, \] and \[ u^{\prime \prime}(x)+\lambda u(x)=0,\;\;u(0)=0, \;u'(1)-\lambda du(1)=0,\;d>0. \] The former arises solving an analogy of the Tricomi problem for a parabolic-hyperbolic equation by the Fourier method, while the latter is obtained for the amplitude of standing waves in the problem of vibrations of a loaded string. The above problems have only the eigenfunctions \(u_{n}(x)=\sqrt 2 \sin (\sqrt \lambda_{n} (1-x))\) and \(u_{n}(x)=\sqrt 2 \sin (\sqrt \lambda_{n} x)\), \(n=0,1,2\dots\), with positive eigenvalues \(\lambda_{n}\) determined by the equations \(\tan \sqrt \lambda =(a-\lambda)/(b\sqrt \lambda)\) and \(\cot \sqrt \lambda =d\sqrt \lambda\), respectively. It is proved that the systems \(\{u_{n}(x)\}\), \(n=1,2,\dots\), of these eigenfunctions without a single arbitrary chosen function, form bases in the space \(L_{p}(0,1)\), \(p\geq 1\).
