The author considers the equation \[ {dy\over dt}= ay(t)+ by(t-\tau)+ F(y(t)), \] where \(F\) is an analytical function in a neighbourhood of the origin, \(F(0)= F'(0)= 0\). A theorem is proved on the existence of exponential series uniformly approximating the solution to the initial value problem.
