The author considers the Cauchy problem \[ u_t=\Delta u^m -c(x,t)u^p, \;(x,t)\in S=\mathbb{R}^N\times \mathbb{R}_+,\quad u(x,0)=u_0(x) \] where \(m>1\), \(p>m\), \(N\geq 1\) and \(c(x,t)\in C^\alpha_{\text{loc}}(S)\) is a nonnegative function positive outside some cylinder \( 0<\alpha<1.\) He proves the existence and uniqueness of a generalized (in a sense of the integral identity) solution without any assumptions on the behavior of the coefficient \(c(x,t)\) as \(|x|\to \infty\) . The uniqueness of the solution is proved under the assumption of a sufficiently slow decay of \(c(x,t)\) at infinity.
