Nonlinear homogeneous retarded differential equations and population dynamics via translation semigroups (Q5952237)

A class of nonlinear homogeneous retarded differential equations of the form \[ u'(t)= Bu(t)+ L(u_t) \] is studied, and models like the Sharpe-Lotka-MacKendrick model are considered. Equivalence between solution semigroups and appropriate translation semigroups is given. Existence results for retarded equations are given for \(W^{1,p}(-r,0; F)\) initial values, where \(F\) is a Banach space, \(1\leq p< \infty\) and \(0< r\leq\infty\).
