The book contains a collection of selected and refereed papers on the most recent results about equilibrium problems arising from mechanics, network management and economic systems. In the book it is shown how many equilibrium problems, such as the celebrated Signorini problem, the obstacle problem, the discrete and continuous traffic equilibrium problem, the spatial price equilibrium problem (and many others) follow a general law (the so-called user equilibrium condition). Such a law allows us to express the problem in terms of variational inequalities, which provide a powerful methodology; by means of it, existence and calculation of the solutions can be obtained. The papers will be reviewed individually.
