The paper deals with the problem of the existence of scattering solutions for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation which is generated by the Hartree-Fock approximation in quantum mechanics of multi-electron atoms: \[ iu_t = -(1/2)\Delta u + f(u), \] where \(\Delta\) is the Laplacian acting in the \(n\)-dimensional space, the function \(u\) is a multicomponent variable, \((u_1,...,u_N)\), and the nonlocal nonlinear vectorial expression \(f(u)\) is \[ f_j(u) = \int |x-y|^{-1} \sum_{k=1}^{N}[|u_k(y)|^2u_j(x) -u_k^{*}(y)u_j(y)u_k(x)]dy, \] the asterisk standing for the complex conjugation. In this paper, the existence of sufficiently small solutions to the Hartree-Fock equation is proven, and some estimates for a norm of the solutions are obtained.
