Let \(A(x)\) be the number of square-full integers not exceeding \(x\), and let \(\Delta(x)\) be the error term in the asymptotic representation of \(A(x)\). It is well known that \(\Delta(x)= o(x^{1/6})\). At the present time one can reduce the exponent \(1/6\) only if one assumes the Riemann hypothesis to be true. In this direction some improvements were given. The best result to date is \[ \Delta(x)\ll x^{1/7+\varepsilon}, \] which was proved independently by W.-Y. Zhu and K.-T. Yu, X.-D. Cao, H.-Q. Liu, J. Wu. In this paper the author proves \[ \Delta(x)\ll x^{12/85+\varepsilon} \] using a new estimation of the corresponding quadrupel exponential sum.
