The authors begin by observing that every finite rectangular band is naturally dualisable in the sense of \textit{D. M. Clark} and \textit{B. A. Davey}'s book [Natural dualities for the working algebraists, Cambridge: Cambridge Univ. Press (1998; Zbl 0910.08001)]. The corresponding duality arises via an algebra which is a product of two independent Boolean algebras. Departing from this observation, the authors define a \(k\)-primal algebra as a product of \(k\) independent primal algebras and develop a strong duality for the quasivariety \(\mathcal A\) generated by a \(k\)-primal algebra. As an application, they show that a quasivariety \(\mathcal B\) is equivalent as a category to \(\mathcal A\) if and only is \(\mathcal B\) is also generated by a \(k\)-primal algebra. The duality and the categorical equivalence results generalize the well-known results of \textit{T.-K. Hu} [Math. Z. 110, 180-198 (1969; Zbl 0177.02602); Algebra Univers. 1, 152-154 (1971; Zbl 0236.08005)] for the primal algebra case.
