On a generalized Pompeiu functional equation (Q5953385)

The reviewer and \textit{P. K. Sahoo} [Int. J. Math. Math. Sci. 21, No. 1, 117-124 (1998; Zbl 0897.39005)], obtained the general solutions of the functional equations \[ f(x+y+xy)= p(x)+q(y)+ g(x)h(y),\quad x,y\in\mathbb{R},\;x, y\neq 1, \] and \[ f(ax+by+cxy) =f(x)+f(y)+f(x) f(y),\quad \text{for }x,y\in \mathbb{R}, \] where \(\mathbb{R}\) is the set of reals and \(f,p,q,g,h:\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\). The authors in this paper, by using the above results, obtain the general solution of the functional equation \[ f(ax+by+cxy)= p(x)+q(y)+g(x)h(y), \quad\text{for }x,y \in\mathbb{R}. \]
