Linear multi-input, multi-output systems described by transfer functions are considered. A design problem for a feedback controller and a prefilter are formulated. All plants of a plant set have to meet tracking error specifications. An error transfer function matrix is defined by the deviation of plant outputs from model outputs.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe method is illustrated by a benchmark example of a two-input, two-output distillation column. Response-time, overshoot and steady state error are specified. The results obtained with the new method are presented.
