Let \(M\) be a smooth compact manifold, let \(A\) be a \(C^*\)-algebra of operators on a Hilbert space, and let \(G\) be a compact Lie group which acts on both \(A\) and \(M\). Consider bundles of finitely generated projective \(A\)-modules over \(M\) acted upon by \(G\) in a way compatible with the actions on \(M\) and \(A\). In the present paper, the author proves a \(G\)-index theorem for equivariant elliptic operators acting on the sections of such bundles. Results of this kind were previously known only for \(G\) acting trivially on \(A\). The proof follows faithfully Atiyah's and Singer's \(K\)-theoretic demonstration of the index theorem.
