Time-dependent Lagrangians invariant by a vector field (Q5953684)

When dealing with mechanical systems coming from a regular Lagrangian, different formulations exists: if the Lagrangian is autonomous, then the symplectic formalism is the appropriate one, but if the Lagrangian depends on time, then the contact formulation is more suitable. Here the authors study the reduction of the contact formulation for a time-dependent Lagrangian if there exists an infinitesimal symmetry of the Lagrangian. These kind of symmetries generalize the idea of ``time invariance''.
