The paper deals with the generalized inverse \(A^{(2)}_{S,T}\) defined as the unique matrix \(\{2\}\)-inverse such that \(T\) is its range and \(S\) is its null space. Taking special \(T\) and \(S\) subspaces, the matrix \(A^{(2)}_{S,T}\) becomes the Moore-Penrose, the weighted Moore-Penrose, the Drazin, the group or the Bott-Duffin inverse. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEFirstly, a unified treatment for the perturbation of the generalized \(A^{(2)}_{S,T}\) is given. In particular lower and upper bounds of the relative error of the perturbation are established. From these results some known particular cases are derived. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINESecondly, the solution of the restricted system \(Ax=b\), where \(x\) belongs to a subspace of \({\mathbb C}^{n}\) is analyzed. From a characterization for \(A^{(2)}_{S,T}b\) to be a special solution of this system, the convergence of subproper splittings for computing this solution is derived.
