Krein's entire functions and the Bernstein approximation problem (Q5954254)

In this important paper the authors extend two classical theorems of Krein concerning entire functions in the Cartwright class (Section 1). By way of application, in Section 2 the authors consider the weighted Bernstein approximation problem; that is, the determination of criteria for the polynomials to be dense in certain weighted spaces of continuous functions. The proofs require various estimates for harmonic measures in slit domains and these estimates are established in Section 3.
